Electra-Kool Filter Blower Units are a viable, low-cost, packaged "bolt-on" unit designed to eliminate common problems caused by heat and dust in electrical and electronic enclosures and related equipment.
Modern SOLID-STATE controls function best at temperatures below 100ºF.
Heat generated by internal components can raise temperatures to objectionable levels, causing failure or automatic cut-outs to activate.
Dust also reduces the efficiency of heat sinks. CONTACT-TYPE controls are sensitive to fine dusts which build up over time and can cause shorts and other malfunctions. An Electra Kool will upgrade existing air circulation equipment! Many enclosures have no ventilation other than louvres for heat release. Others have small fans or fans equipped with inexpensive panel-type filters to keep dust out.
LOW-POWERED fans may not have the capability to remove enough heat, especially when a filter is dirty. Because panel filters are not very noticeable, they are generally neglected, and the circulation of air suffers.
Panel-type filters of fiberglass, synthetic and metal mesh filter medias are not highly efficient on the bulk of the microscopic dust particles which cause problems. The filter area is generally small and they tend to clog quickly in dusty environments. Sometimes (especially in hot weather) doors may be opened to improve air circulation in the cabinet and/or fans may be placed in front of the opened doors. This is not only dangerous, but a direct violation of OSHA and plant safety standards. Electra Kool units are a low-cost answer to these problems! Electra-Kool assemblies are designed to give proper FORCEFUL VENTILATION to enclosures and at the same time, keep problem-causing fine dust out! Electra-Kools are self-contained units that can be installed in about ONE HOUR! Dusts are filtered out to 99% efficiency. They will FORCE THE COOLER, AMBIENT AIR to the inside, while BLOWING AWAY the built-up internal heat!
Electra-Kools are less costly than air conditioners to purchase and run. They are less expensive than using compressed air to pressurize and do not form condensation internally. Because they are externally mounted and visible, any filter change is easily noticed. Both the pre-filter and main filter are cleanable and REUSEABLE and can be changed in LESS THAN A MINUTE! The blowers are heavy-duty PRESSURE TYPES, not low-powered fans! If heat is not a problem, they can be used to PRESSURIZE cabinets to keep out dust! Lastly, Electra-Kools are PERFORMANCE GUARANTEED for your application! Industrial Dusts The human eye can see particles about 35-40 microns and larger. Most industrial dusts are much smaller and in the 1-25 micron range. These fine dusts can infiltrate through ineffective filters, door seals, etc. and, over a period of time, may cause problems.
